Bangkok - Penang Day 5

The last and final day started off with a hearty breakfast. We are supposed to left for the airport at 10.30am and since all the malls only started business at 10am, we didn't linger around anymore. What else to do other than camwhoring in the hotel. Haha

At 10.15am, the bellboy came and collected our luggages. Its then time to leave. We reached the airport about 15 minutes later. After checked in again its camwhore session. The airport is really large and one might get lost since we don't read Thai. Haha. Joking. The boards usually comes in both English and Thai. The staff there can understand English too. So fret not.

At 1.15pm Thai time, we boarded the plane and reached Penang International Airport at 4 something in the afternoon.

To sum things up, I've watched tiger show, elephant show, pig show, etc. You name them. Owh and for those who thought boxing show is kind of an adult show, you are so wrong. It's basically Thai boxing. They can do it all night. It's no different from watching the football league.

Despite the hot weather, it was indeed an enjoyable trip as well as a getaway from my boring holiday. Now it is again time to seek the meaning of life by not wasting more time, and of course, EARN SOME CASH!!

Pattaya - Bangkok Day 4

The day started with yet another lousy buffet breakfast at the hotel. There was nothing to choose from as the fried rice tasted plain, the bread were kinda stale, the cereal choice were only koko krunch and cornflakes. I only fed on the bull eye egg and pineapple. The only edible things. Hehe. The pineapple were super sweet, just the way I like it.

We left Pattaya and headed back to Bangkok. On the way we stopped at the elephant farm where tourists can ride on an elephant for 200 Baht per person. I skipped that.

The next stop is a snake research center where they uses parts of the snake and made into medicine for different purposes. According to them, there are only two research centers in the world, one in Thailand another at Brazil.

The staff did some stunts. He put the snake's head into his mouth. Eww.. But no fear, the snake's teeth were removed so it won't bite.

Safari World and Marine Park was the next destination. We were brought around for a tour in our bus and the animals are free to move around. There were deers, oxen, birds, tigers, lions, lyger (mix breed of lion and tiger), peacocks and many more.

Then we headed for buffet lunch, which has nothing worth mentioning. By the time we finished lunch we missed the dolphin show. Having no choice we opted for the spy war show, a James Bond-like show where the hero was on a mission against the villain.

We took another 1 and half hour ride before reaching Bangkok. Since it was too early for dinner, we went for a little shopping at MBK, the shopping paradise. The 1 and half hour shopping session was definitely not enough to satisfied our urges. We need more!! But its good as I am in tight budget now. >.<

After dinner, we headed back to our hotel, the same one we accommodated on the first night, Montien Hotel.

Pattaya Day 3

Our third day kicked start with excitement where we were brought to Coral Beach with a speed boat with left me 'floating' throughout the rest of the day. I could feel the bath tub rocking back and forth when I was having my shower after back to the hotel.

Before that, we dropped by the man made deck for those who are interested to do some parachuting. Its only 350 Baht per ride. Too bad I felt like puking else I would never have missed this golden opportunity.

Sebsequently we reached the Coral Beach where we were introduced to different packages of banana boat ride, motor boat ride and also an underwater walk all at very reasonable price. We did some shopping at the stores along the beach. They were all practically selling the same goods so do remember to negotiate for a better price. Some can cut up to half.

After a tiring journey back from the sea, we headed to Nong Nooch for a cultural and elephant show. We were shown Thai boxing and some traditional dances. As for the elephants, they can draw, play soccer, basketball, bowling and dance. Kinda cute to see these huge creature moving so agile.

Welcome to Nong Nooch, with a twist of parrot paradise

After leaving Nong Nooch, we went to Pattaya Floating Market. This is a make alike floating market, just a few boats by the side. The rest of the shops are on the wooden deck and no one sells from the boat.

Selling at only 45 Baht each canister. The flavours come in coconut cream, coffee, shrimp, chicken, bbq, curry and also wasabi. We got the coconut cream and coffee flavours. Totally yummy!!

By the time we were done with our shopping, everyone is tired and hungry. We had our dinner at a Chinese restaurant where we were served with shark fin soup, suckling pork, steamed fish, crabs, chicken, vegetables, fried oysters and bird nest soup as well as fruits as dessert. Too bad I can't take pictures of the dishes as I figured it would be kinda impolite to do so in front of a table of hungry people.

Tonight we had a special activity, for an extra 700 Baht per person, we headed for the infamous 'Ah Gua' show. According to the tourist guide, the shows are always fully booked and we had to pre-book the day before to avoid disappointment. For me this is definitely the best show in the whole trip. The 'Ah Gua' are actually pretty and the backdrop is really well done and creative.

After the show, all the 'Ah Gua' will gather around at the car park for 10 minutes where anyone can take picture with them for 4o Baht per pax. There was one especially pretty and everyone was asking for her. Too bad I failed to snap a picture of hers.

We were all exhausted by the time we reached the hotel. After cleaning up and some packing, we headed to bed.

Bangkok - Pattaya Day 2

The next day started at 7am Thai time with a hearty buffet breakfast in the hotel. There was a wide selection of cold cut and cheese, pastries, bakeries, dim sums, noodles, cereals and rice dishes.

After filling ourselves, we headed to Chaophraya River for a sightseeing of the riverside activities.

Next up we went to Wat Arun which is located on the other side of the river. The day is really hot and we were all sweating all over.

I didn't went inside as there is an extra charge and short pants are not allowed. One has to rent their 'sarung' for an extra 20 Baht.

After getting all sticky and smelly, we went for a scrumptious buffet lunch which is located at the 78th floor on a tall building. Since we arrived a little too early, we went for the 360 degree revolving deck at the 83rd floor for a top view of Bangkok city.

Lunch was really nice with food selection from Thai, Japanese, Western. Chinese and also dessert. Too bad there's not much stomach space. There were also a clown show.

We then headed to Pattaya. Halfway there, we stopped by Sriracha Tiger Zoo. The tigers there are breded in a special way. They are fed by sows. This helps to overcome the problem where the tigress's milk is insufficient to feed all the clubs. And its kinda sweet to see the tiger and pigs sleeping together in the same cage.

This is real tiger. No extra charges but tipping is encouraged for the staffs' hard work.

There are shows on specific hours. We watched the crocodile show where the staff put his head into the crocodile's head. Followed up is the tiger show where the tigers are made to do certain moves such as jumping through the fire loop, walking up straight and more. There was also a pig which can make simple calculations and pigs racing.

We continued our journey and the next stop is at Thai Alangkarn where we had our early buffet dinner which had nothing to shout about and then a Thai cultural show. No cameras allowed so didn't snapped any photos. After the show, one can take pictures with the performers with extra charges. That's how most theaters there work.

We reached Pattaya at night. Checked into our hotel, Royal Twins Hotel. Since we don't have any schedule at night, we went for a walk at the nearby market and plaza. The streets at night were still very much lively and there were more massage rooms and roadside stalls.
