Penang - Bangkok Day 1

On 4th of June, at local time 2 in the afternoon, we packed our luggages and got our ass off to Penang International Airport and set off to Bangkok for a family vacation.

Camwhore before setting off. My backpack which follows me all over the world and my cap. Hehe

After 3 long hours in the airport, which was the drawback in taking a plane, we finally board the plane and took our 1 hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand. We reached Bangkok Airport at Thai time 5.35pm, which is 1 hour later than our local time.

After alighting the plane, we got up a bus which carried us to the main building. The structure of the airport is indeed very beautiful. We were lucky there were very few people that evening. Save us from the crowd and bumping.

After everyone collected their luggages and checked for damages, we were welcomed by a Thai tourist guide who were with us for the following days.

Water bottle given to each of us every morning.

Our first stop was to see the famous Four Face Buddha. This one in Bangkok is believed to be the most effective. Since it is located just alongside of the main road, there are people coming from everywhere including locals which have just finish work. The things to ask for from the four faces regarding health, wealth, relationships and children.

The crowd which range from locals to people of all races.

There were stalls selling flower bundles and joss sticks all along the nearby roadside.

Next we were brought to dinner at a Teochew restaurant. We were served a total of eight dishes including chilly crabs, steamed fish, fried big oysters, vegetables, soup, prawns, green curry chicken, deep fried tofu and banana as dessert.

Since the day had come to an end, we were brought back to our hotel, Montien Hotel which is very famous some years back.

The guard was in traditional Thai attire.

We had a walk along the night market just opposite the hotel. There were a lot of clothes, souvenirs and accessories sold there. However we found nothing to our liking. There were pubs and massage rooms all along the way. I even saw a pub were the girls were all in bikinis.

We stopped by the convenient store just outside the road into the hotel, Family Mart which can be found almost everywhere in Bangkok.

Lays chips and Pocky at only 20 Baht each.

We retired back to our room to rest and get ready for the next day.
