After sending off The Duck this morning, we went for dim sum since we hardly wake up this early for the sake of breakfast. Where to? In my humble opinion, the best dim sum in Penang has definitely got to be in Restaurant Zim Sum (点心之家) at Macalister Road, just a turn after Ghee Hiang.
We went as early as 6.45am and found that there were already a number of patrons of different age categories. But don't come too early as the choices of dim sums are still limited.
Our pot of tea
Rolls of meat, prawns and some vege
Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun (港式猪肠粉). The cheong fun is really smooth and thin. Goes very well with the chilli and shallots, drizzled with soy sauce.
Beancurd Prawns Roll. Not my pick of choice as I don't fancy beancurd and it tends to be a tad oily.
'Har Gau' (虾角) and 'Siew Mai' (烧卖). Really fresh prawns and no porky smell. So good on its own.
Char Siew Bun (蜜汁叉烧包). The bun is soft and fluffy with a hint of sweetness. Perfect match to the sweet and savoury char siew.
Taro Puff (芋角). Recommended! The juicy char siew is wrapped in a soft pouch of taro, deep-fried until crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
The bill came to a total RM14.90. After the super filling breakfast, we headed home and I continued to have my beauty sleep till noon before I continued with my packing. XD
Meanwhile, wishing everyone a Happy Chinese Valentine's Day! 七夕情人节快乐!
I'll be away for two whole weeks to a place far far away, where flowers bloom prettily, river flows freely, birds chirp merrily BUT purse thins quickly. Lol.
Stay tune for my return!~
