When East Meet West . Vol 1: Amsterdam Day 1

So much of the jet lag that made me all loungey and sleeping at odd time all day, owing to The Duck who took so many nice pictures, myself who wanted to keep this memory and just anyone who is interested in my journey to the West, *chuckles, I've decided to take the trouble and make entries about my visit there.

To enlighten those who had no idea, I went for a visit to UK, more specifically London, to see The Duck dearest. It was and is a memory of a lifetime. In between my two week's visit there, we went on a 4D3N trip to Amsterdam. I'll start off with my Amsterdam trip first.

On 9th August, we woke up early despite sleeping late the day before after a most amazing musical. After having breakfast, we went out to catch our coach that would take us to London Stansted Airport. The coach is well equipped with toilet at the back. So for those who needs to go easy on their bladder every now and then have nothing to worry.

After a 45 mins flight, we reached Schiphol Airport. Since The Duck had already did all the necessary 'researches' and the information counter found itself useful, we had not much of a trouble boarding a bus no. 197 and headed to out lodging. For those who doesn't read nor speak Dutch, no worries, you won't feel much alienated as most people here speak fluent English and most signboards have English written on.

Van Hogh Hostel (after the famous artist, Vincent Van Hogh)

Since it was near evening and we were unfamiliar with the place, we couldn't be bothered to get lost just for dinner. Hence we went to the local hypermarket, Albert Heijn to grab some dinner.

Salads and yoghurt

After dinner, we went for a stroll on the nearby neighbourhood and park. Just to get a feel of being in the land of Dutch. Hehe

Some random street. On the right is Van Hogh Museum

Another mode of transport, tram

Another famous museum, Rijksmuseum

We retired early, exhausted from the journey and the weather, it was a really cold summer, anticipating for the days to come in Netherlands.
