When East Meet West . Vol 1: Amsterdam Day 4

On the last day, we had breakfast at the hostel. I made myself smoked chicken and cheese sandwiched in a croissant. Yummy! Hehe. The Duck had two eggs during breakfast. Her love for eggs raise doubt on whether she is more of a snake. Hmm...

We walked to the nearby Van Hogh Museum. No photography allowed in the museum. There were paintings of Vincent Van Hogh and other artists he admired. Vincent is one poor lad who suffered much in his life and only managed to gain recognition after his death.

Tickets on hand, waiting in the queue

The last stop was at Heineken Experience, made use of the brewery to let people know more about the history of the beer and the hard work by the four Heineken generations to achieve this great success. The current successor is a lady, Charlene de Carvalho Heineken. *proud We were also given the chance to learn more about beer brewing and was taught the best way to enjoy your beer. PROST! (Meaning Cheers! in Dutch. Hehe)

Entrance. The band on my wrist had two buttons meant for two free drinks

Using Linde refrigeration machine! Haha. Now I know its application

The four steps in brewing beer.

First, steeping

Second, brewing

Third, lautering

Final, cooking

Even till this day, sometimes they may still transport their beer this way

It's now time to bid Amsterdam farewell. We took the underground train to get to the airport.

Train station

Time passed by so quickly. We were again at Schiphol Airport, which is one of the best airport in the world.

Trying to find something authentic, we had our lunch at Dutch & Delicious. We were still in Netherlands anyway.

The beeping UFO. It will lights up and rings when your order is ready

Hete Barneveldse Kip (Hot Chicken) which is chicken breast baked in chilli sauce, baked onion, apple and dutch spinach sandwiched between two wholemeal bread. The chicken breast was juicy and well marinated. The apple went very well with the chilli sauce.

Limburgs Bufsjtok (Round Steak) is baked steak well done, baked onion, mushroom, parsley and lettuce sandwiched between two wholemeal bread. I found the steak a tad bland and dry.

We then took our 40 mins flight back to London. My visit to Amsterdam was indeed a really nice one and I would love to go back someday.
