On the 14th, the Sunday after our return from Amsterdam, we hopped on the train for an approximately 1hr 40 mins journey to Bath Spa. Due to time restriction, before going to the Roman Bath, we first opened our eyes to one of the magnificent prehistoric monument which is believed to be erected around 3000-2200 BC.
We went there by bus, which was pre-booked. It took us another 1 hour before reaching there. Along the way there were meadows, estates and country houses. I caught a glimpse of University of Bath as well.
Before you started scrolling down, be aware, this entry will be filled with stones. Not just any ordinary stones, they are once included in the Seven Wonders of the World. Now, let us proceed.
Upon reaching there, from afar we saw the Stonehenge, (please note that its Stonehenge, not Stonehedge), standing tall among the crowd of visitors, marveling in astonishment. There were lots of tourist buses and cars. Hundreds were there to see for themselves, the hanging stones. At the entrance, we were each given a pamphlet and an audio guide.
The crowds trailing the path towards Stonehenge while listening to the introduction through their audio guides
We were listening, least attentively >.<
Do Re Mi. Ah Bui was the black key
Lets look at the stones from different sides, shall we?
Ah Bui's Superman pose
Ah Bui: I can touch the sky!
Jia Jia: That's the STONEHENGE!
The Heelstone
That's how it is supposed to be before devastated by the ages and acts of human beings
By the time we hopped back to the bus and headed back to Bath, though I did not still know much about this ancient monument, I truly stood in awe of its present.
